GET CARAVAN READY

About Get Caravan Ready

Practical Australian caravan tools built from real experience

Get Caravan Ready helps Australian caravanners make clearer decisions from the first idea through buying, setup, towing, touring and life on the road.

The project was founded by Anthony Krollig. Anthony has owned three caravans since 2013, completed a half-lap of Australia, travelled extensively through Western Australia and lived in a caravan for two years. That experience shapes the questions GCR tools ask, but personal experience is never treated as a substitute for current technical evidence.

What Get Caravan Ready creates

GCR turns complicated caravan topics into practical Australian guides, checklists, calculators, worksheets and reusable planning systems. Products use Australian dollars, kilometres, kilograms, litres and litres per 100 kilometres.

The aim is to help customers understand a decision, collect the right information and recognise when manufacturer data, an actual weighbridge result or qualified professional advice is required.

How information is prepared

  • Calculator relationships and terminology are checked against the relevant Australian context.
  • Safety-critical tools explain their assumptions and limitations.
  • Product pages state the included formats, software requirements and digital-delivery method.
  • Articles and resources are reviewed when material information or the supporting product changes.
  • Corrections and practical feedback are welcomed.

What GCR does not claim

Get Caravan Ready does not certify a vehicle and caravan combination, replace manufacturer instructions or provide individual legal, engineering, mechanical, electrical, gas, medical or financial advice. Towing and payload decisions should use the lowest applicable limit and actual loaded weights.

Australian-owned and customer supported

Get Caravan Ready is an Australian digital-product business. Products are delivered online and no physical item is shipped unless a product page explicitly says otherwise.

Questions, corrections and accessibility requests can be sent through the contact page. Customers can also share honest product feedback, with clear choices about whether it may be published.

About Get Caravan Ready

Get Caravan Ready helps Australian caravanners make clearer decisions—from the first idea and the buying process through to setup, towing, touring and life on the road.

Three generations of caravanning

Caravanning has been part of my family for three generations. My grandfather owned caravans throughout the 1970s and 1980s, followed by my father during the 1990s and 2000s. I travelled with them at times, learning about caravan life long before buying my own.

Learning through real journeys

Since 2013, I have owned three caravans. The journey began with a 16-foot Trackmaster and a modest off-grid system, followed by a 16-foot Kokoda Armorlite with 600Ah of battery capacity and 740 watts of solar. Our next caravan, a CRV Ontrack 601 with 600Ah of battery capacity and 1,200 watts of solar, is due for collection in January 2027.

Along the way, we have travelled extensively throughout Western Australia, completed a half-lap of Australia and lived in a caravan for two years. That has meant learning the practical side of choosing a caravan, matching a tow vehicle, managing payload, preparing for remote travel, living with limited power and water, maintaining equipment and creating routines that make life on the road calmer.

Why Get Caravan Ready exists

Caravanning involves many connected decisions, but the information people need is often scattered, overly technical or focused on selling a particular product. A towing figure on its own does not explain payload. A battery size does not tell you how many days you can stay off-grid. A caravan that looks right in a showroom may not suit the way you actually want to travel.

Get Caravan Ready was created to turn those complicated subjects into practical Australian guides, checklists, calculators and reusable planning tools. The aim is not to tell everyone to make the same choice. It is to help you understand the decision, collect the right information, ask better questions and recognise where you need specialist advice.

Useful first, promotional second

The calculators and Learning Hub are openly available so you can begin with useful information before deciding whether a paid resource would help. When you want a deeper process, the paid guides and bundles bring the questions, worksheets and planning steps together in one place.

Get Caravan Ready provides general educational information, not engineering approval, legal advice or a guarantee that a towing combination is safe. Safety-sensitive decisions should always be checked against current manufacturer specifications, road-authority requirements, qualified specialists and real weighbridge results.
